Rooibos Tea

Market Spice is the beloved tea of Pike Place Market but one of the downfalls is the fact it has caffeine.  This tea allows those who cannot have caffeine but LOVE the heavy cinnamon, clove and orange flavors of Market Spice to indulge.  We suggest this tea for a cold night by the fire.

This tea is sweet and tart at the same time.  When opening the bag, blueberry overwhelms not only your senses but your whole space.  As it brews up you will be sure that everyone around you will ask, “WHAT IS THAT”?!?

Rooibos is best known in western areas as “red tea”.  Green Rooibos is the unoxidized version of this tea.  Earthy and green tasting, it has a completely different taste than it’s “red” counter part.  For those who have had Rooibos and not liked the “aftertaste”, this tea is a way to enjoy the health benefits of Rooibos without that aftertaste.   Rooibos is naturally caffeine free.

When you open this bag of tea, you will think you are on an island paradise.  The blend of rooibos and honeybush mixed with exotic spices like lemongrass, Hibiscus, Rosehips, and Passion Fruit flavor will have you sticking a little umbrella in this tea all year round.  The tea brews up tart even though the smell is sweet.

What happens when Rooibos, Honeybush, Hibiscus, Rosehips, Lemon Myrtle mix with Peach, Mango and Passion Fruit natural flavorings?  This Passion Fruit tea is born.  It is a smooth Rooibos that doesn’t have the aftertaste of a traditional Rooibos.  The Passion Fruit flavor is not overpowering but it is definitely there.

Red Rooibos or just plain Rooibos as it is commonly known, this tea is red in color and red in your cup.  Red Rooibos is the same leaves as the green version, except the leaves have been crushed and oxidized.  The oxidized version then takes the scent of tobacco and tastes slightly sweet.  This tea is big in Africa as that is where it is grown.  It is naturally caffeine free.
